QuickStaff ("we", "us") operates the QuickStaff platform, which connects South African businesses with workers. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, province, and city.
• Worker profiles: skills, work experience (bio), profile photo, optional ID number, and optional supporting documents.
• Employer profiles: company name, optional registration number, and business contact details.
• Usage data: job posts, applications, reviews, and messages sent through the platform, including WhatsApp onboarding conversations.
• Payment data: subscription records. Card details are processed by our payment provider (Payfast) and are never stored by us.

2. How we use your information

• To create and display worker and employer profiles to other platform users.
• To match workers with job opportunities near them.
• To process subscription payments.
• To send service notifications (application updates, subscription reminders) by email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
• To calculate trust indicators that help employers assess worker profiles.
• To prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.

3. Sharing of information

Worker profile information (name, skills, city, ratings) is visible to registered employers. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only with service providers required to operate the platform (hosting, payments, messaging) under appropriate safeguards.

4. Your rights under POPIA

• Access: you may request a full export of your personal data at any time from your profile settings.
• Correction: you can update your profile information at any time.
• Deletion: you may delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings. Active subscriptions are cancelled and open jobs are closed.
• Objection: you may contact us to object to any processing of your information.

5. Data retention and security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Data is stored securely in Amazon Web Services data centres located in Cape Town, South Africa, with encryption in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

6. WhatsApp communications

If you sign up or interact with QuickStaff via WhatsApp, your phone number and messages are processed to create and manage your worker profile. You can reply STOP at any time to end the conversation.
